Matamoros Encampment on the US/Mexico Border

In 2019, with our community’s support and with the collaboration of Team Brownsville (teambrownsville.org), Reading on the Pitch was able to implement the English ROTP program on the Mexico/US border where 1000 asylum seekers were living in tents waiting to cross into the United States. Over the years this number has increased to 3000+. Earlier this week, the majority of individuals crossed into the United States ready to begin their new journeys.
